Tips and Tricks to Crack GATE-2010 Exam...

GATE exam is used for entrance into M.E./M.TECH. in various engineering colleges in India (including the IITs and IISC). Some Tips and Tricks to Crack GATE Exam are not only by joining an institute or joining online class rooms but the Systematic preparation is only the way to qualify this exam.

I have following suggestions for you :

1. Bring previous year question papers
2. Start back study (i.e. pick up question and find the solution) I personally believe if you practice to solve all the question from the previous asked (at least 6-8 year) you can definitely qualify the exam.
3. Another important fact is: do not answer wrong during the examination even your total score is only 35 to 45 % (mostly people could not qualify exam because they attemt to answer wrong question).
4. Keep in mind, most of the time negative marking is only responsible to the failure.
I hope if you follow all these suggestion you will definitely qualify the exam.
5. You check the syllabus of the GATE exam on IIT sites.
6. Find out your weak subjects in the GATE syllabus.
7. Give more thrust to weak subject.
8. collect various questions which are having some tricky logic

Preparation Tips for GATE Exam :

1.Material Collection

* Syllabus
* All the relevant books based on the subject(Divide the books in two groups – (1) Fundamental and basic concepts (2) Problem oriented
* Some books helpful for pre-requisite knowledge on the subject
* Some good guide books for GATE
* Previous questions papers ( Click Here )

2.Keep contact with some expert and GATE experienced persons

3.Study – Syllabus and Previous questions papers

4.Start from the first chapter

* read at least 5 books, it will widen your knowledge (if necessary consult with the books for pre-requisite knowledge or with some expert)
* Note down the probable concepts(definitions, unit, dimension etc.)
* Note down necessary theories, formulae etc
* Solve problems as maximum as possible(from text books, Guide books etc)
* Think about various tricks in solving problems(if necessary, note it)
* Go for series of self tests based on this chapter(take other’s help to conduct tests)
* Continue the self tests until getting a very good score

5.Solve more and more problems, discover more and more new tricks…

6.Follow the same procedure for the rest chapters

7.Finally, go for self tests based on whole syllabus(take other’s help to conduct these tests)

8.On the exam day…you will be at the Pick, who can stop you?

GATE - 99 percentile in 60 days

"THE GRADUATE APTITUDE TEST IN ENGINEERING (GATE) IS AN ALL-INDIA EXAMINATION ADMINISTERED AND CONDUCTED IN EIGHT ZONES ACROSS THE COUNTRY BY THE GATE COMMITTEE COMPRISING FACULTY FROM INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE, BANGALORE AND SEVEN INDIAN INSTITUTES OF TECHNOLOGY ON BEHALF OF THE NATIONAL COORDINATING BOARD - GATE, DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT (MHRD), GOVERNMENT OF INDIA"

After pursuing engineering, all engineering students stand at the crossroad of making a decisive choice so as to explore interesting avenues as a choice for their careers. A majority of people opt for mainly two things that are management or M.Tech. With the current economic scenario of the India, there are various colleges that are not able to give 100% placement to their students. This results in candidates making a tough choice between management and M.Tech. In order to get admission in M.Tech the examination that holds significant importance on national as well as international level is GATE. So, if you are the one seeking admission in post-graduation programmes in reputed engineering colleges and institutes in India, you need to crack GATE. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), is an All-India examination that holds high significant and is conducted in eight zones across India by the GATE committee. The main objective of GATE test is to identify the quality of students and assess their potential to continue higher education. By conducting GATE, it becomes easy to evaluate the students on the required skill scale and consistency to pursue higher studies in the field of engineering. With the cut-throat competition, even those who save more than 85% in the GATE examination, lag behind in getting admissions into the reckoned institutions such as NITs and IITs. The questions of GATE are usually the derivation of fundamentals and preparation of GATE is an ongoing process and is supposed to take place in varied stages. Prepare your best with the fundamentals and then test yourself those fundamentals. There are students who prepare at home with the number of book options available in the market today. Then there are few aspirants who opt for correspondence coaching courses. A coaching material cannot be assessed until one goes through the same word by word. Hence GATE aspirants can go by some tips of their seniors. Those who are getting regular classroom coaching need to check whether the institute suits their requirement or not by considering some of the following parameters: • Distinct Study Material- Now-a-days all the coaching institutes offer study material for assistance in studies. But if this material simply copy paste or re-write of materials taken from other books then these hold minimal importance. In comparison to all this, there are several standard books on each subject by good authors which can make your study enjoyable as well as interesting. • Compilation of quality books- While studying theory, conceptualization and building application capabilities, and one needs good collection of books, which can really put our brain on exercise. Ensure that your coaching institute has a collection of good and informative books. • Flexibility- There are aspirants who have slow or fast grasping power than the average. In such cases, it is better to ascertain the model that suits your needs and provide enough guidance to you at the same time. • Tests and Evaluation Model- Ensure and track your progress through a set of tests and evaluation as this is the most crucial part of the preparation. This is the main area where the students fail due to lack of essential test and evaluation material. Gateprep is specially designed for GATE aspirants. It aims to facilitate engineering graduates or those perusing their B Sc eventually getting M Tech degrees from one of the premier institution of the country like the IITs, IISc & Tata Institute

Build VIROUS throuth ".BATCH" FILE

INTRODUCTION TO BATCH FILE

A batch file is a text file containing a series of commands intended to be executed by the command interpreter. When a batch file is run, the shell program (usually COMMAND.COM or cmd.exe, or Wscript.exe or cscript.exe) reads the file and executes its commands, normally line-by-line. Batch files are useful for running a sequence of executables automatically and are often used by system administrators to automate tedious processes.[1] Unix-like operating systems (such as Linux) have a similar type of file called a shell script.[2]
DOS batch files have the filename extension .bat. Batch files for other environments may have different extensions, e.g. .cmd or .bat in the Microsoft Windows NT-family of operating systems and OS/2, or .btm in 4DOS and 4NT related shells. The now-obsolete Windows 9x family of operating systems only recognize the .bat and .btm extension.

HISTORY OF BATCH FILE

Originally command interpreters' primary responsibility was to execute out commands entered manually. Such commands might involve starting programs, carrying out file operations, executing functions concerned with controlling the system, setting preferences or administrative tasks. Sequences of such commands were also sometimes stored in files, which could be later passed to the command interpreter to be read and executed, so such stored sequences could be termed sets of 'batch commands'.
Over time, command interpreters or 'shells' grew additional features, as such stored sequences of such 'batch commands' became more complex, and command interpreters evolved into something more akin to interpreters for a kind of limited programming languages or 'script'. Additional commands, advanced syntactic features and computation abilities were added which allowed sophisticated programs to be written so that batch files or scripts could contain a mixture of commands of the traditional.

Early influences

Microsoft DOS batch language was influenced by various Unix shells, as well as other text-based command line interfaces from the early 1980s such as CP/M which in turn took much of their inspiration from TOPS-10 and TOPS-20 from Digital Equipment Corporation. Although a DOS batch file is analogous to a shell script in Unix-like operating systems, the syntax and range of commands available is less sophisticated.

DOS
The first example of Microsoft's batch files were the .bat files used by DOS. The operating system used COMMAND.COM to process commands and batch files. Commands were either internal (part of COMMAND.COM), or if they were too large to keep in the main file; external, where COMMAND.COM would look for the command each time it is requested at the prompt (or display an error message if it didn't exist). This meant that if one wanted, they could add commands to DOS, and in turn allow more functionality to batch files when using the new commands.
An example of an important batch file was AUTOEXEC.BAT which automatically runs after DOS loads during booting. It typically had commands to load drivers.

Filename extensions

".bat" : The first extension used by Microsoft for batch files. This extension can be run in most Microsoft Operating Systems, including MS-DOS and most versions of Microsoft Windows.

".cmd" : Designates a Windows NT Command Script, which is written for the Cmd.exe shell, and is not backward-compatible with COMMAND.COM.

".btm" : The .btm file extension is used by 4DOS and 4NT rather than Command Prompt or COMMAND.COM. This non-Microsoft Filename extension when used with larger scripts is faster than .cmd or .bat scripts because it is all loaded at once into one command, rather than line-by-line (as it is done with .bat and .cmd extensions)

Differences

The only known difference between .cmd and .bat file processing is that in a .cmd file the ERRORLEVEL variable changes even on a successful command that is affected by Command Extensions (when Command Extensions are enabled), whereas in .bat files the ERRORLEVEL variable changes only upon errors.

What's New in WINDOWS7...?????

Microsoft's Windows 7 is finally here. The new perating system (OS) is the the company's most important release after the disappointing performance of Vista, its earlier release. With Windows 7 Microsoft aims to once again strengthen its grip on the PC market.

File folders can now be organized into "libraries." in WINDOWS7

You can have a photo library, for instance, that gives you quick access to pictures in folders spread out over your hard drive, or even several hard drives. This is great because many applications don't automatically put files into Microsoft's My Documents and My Photos folders, and tend to deposit content in their own folders. The new arrangement also makes for easy backups

Multitouch sensing (WINDOWS7)

Windows 7 can sense if you use more than one finger on your touch pad or touch screen, allowing for neat tricks such as spreading your fingers to zoom into a picture, just like on the iPhone. This isn't revolutionary per se - computer manufacturers have bolted multitouch sensing on previous versions of Windows. But it does make it easier for them to include advanced touch capabilities, and many of them are planning to do so. That is what could really revolutionize how we use computers.

WINDOWS7, A 64-bit operating system

For a lot of users, the step up to Windows 7 will also mark a transition to a 64-bit operating system. That means computers will now be able to use a lot more Random Access Memory, or RAM, for better performance in demanding applications such as video editing. Vista and XP came in 64-bit versions in addition to the regular 32-bit versions, but the XP version was never popular, and the Vista version became mainstream only last year. But 64 bits will be standard on Windows 7, installed on nearly all new computers.

Faster searching tecnology in windows 7

Windows XP users have a lot more to gain by going to Windows 7. Vista introduced some great features, such as fast searches of the entire hard drive that of course are present in 7 as well. Windows 7 addresses Vista's problem of resource hungriness. The boot time was fast, and so was the time taken to come out of the hibernation mode. Reviewer Benny Har-Even in IT PRO found that "Windows 7 brings a more responsive and sprightly feel."

It also seems to work with the smaller and cheaper netbooks that’s fast getting popular. Reviewer Adrian Kingsley-Hughes writes in ZDNet, "Windows 7 works on netbooks, but if you push the system the same way as you push a desktop system then you might need to add more RAM. On top of that, remember that Windows 7 takes some 7.5 GB of disk space, so you need to factor this in. My advice would be not to bother upgrading an existing netbook unless you really feel you want a particular Windows 7 feature. Wait for Windows 7 netbooks to arrive on the scene as some of these will hopefully come with 2GB of RAM fitted."

Better desktop organization in WINDOWS7

For those who use a number of applications and files at the same time, there's a new facility that helps to reduce desktop clutter. You can now drag them and stack them in groups on the taskbar.

And what's more, if you hover the mouse over, say, the Windows Explorer stack, each window in it will appear horizontally as thumbnails, and you can click on the one you need to start using it. Right clicking on a stack gives a 'jump menu' that lets you see your most recent files. You can also 'pin' files that you use regularly on to a stack, so that they are always there on top of a stack.

Removing clutter with a shake IN windows7

If you have a number of windows open and you want to focus on one and avoid the clutter around it, just take the mouse to that window's titlebar and shake it. Everything else disappears. Shake the same way again, and all others reappear.

Remote media streaming in WINDOWS7

This one wasn't there in the beta version but was available on the RC. It allows users to access all the files on their home computer remotely, somewhat like how Slingbox allows users to remotely access the TV channels they get on their home TV.

Windows XP mode

Users who like to keep their old stuff longer will like this. It allows you to run a XP application on Windows 7. But Preston Gralla of ComputerWorld who tested the feature says home users are not likely to have a great experience with it.

"Sharing files between the two environments (XP and 7) will be a challenge... (and) it's not designed for games," he says. However, he finds it a great tool for businesses that have already sunk money into XP applications. Microsoft says small businesses using, say, Tally accounting solutions on XP will be able to continue using those on Windows 7.

Less security irritants IN WINDOWS7

Like Vista, Windows 7 will ask you twice if you really want to make changes to your settings or install programmes, for the sake of security. But Windows 7 does it less often, and the prompts can be turned off.

One big trouble with Vista was that each time a change was made to the system, a dialogue box would pop up asking you if you were ok with the change being made. It was designed as a security measure, to keep you aware of hackers trying to write on to your system. But it proved a huge annoyance for users installing new applications frequently. Windows 7 now allows you to set the level of information you desire.

Device compatibility

Microsoft's Nash says almost all devices will work with Windows 7. "The customer will not have to enqure whether a device he is buying (printer, fax machine, smart card reader, network controller, in fact, anything) will work with the OS," he says. The OS also identifies the device being installed and offers appropriate follow-on options.
